Aspirin – This is an experimented and best way to keep flowers, especially roses, stay fresh for longer period. Put a broken aspirin into water and then add to the flowers. Change this water once every two days.
Bleach – The flowers in your vase will last fresh much longer if you add about ¼ tsp bleach in approx 1 liter of water. Or you can also use 3 drops of bleach along with 1 tsp sugar in the same amount of water. This will inhibit the quick growth of bacteria and your flowers will remain fresh.
Sugar – Prepare your own preservative to keep the cut flowers fresh and longer. You need to dissolve 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoons of white vinegar per 1 liter of warm water. So when you are filling the vase, you make sure that the cut stems are well covered by about 3-4 inches of the prepared water.
